Spindle ball bearings
Spindle ball bearings are angular contact ball bearings in a high-precision design. The main application of these bearings is machine tools. However, they are also used very successfully in other industries.
High-precision single-row angular contact ball bearings have the same outer dimensions as bearings of series 79..., 70... and 72..., but their design is adapted to unique requirements:
- High accuracy
- High speed
- High rigidity
- Constant minimal friction
- The ability to group a few bearings into sets without adapting them
These special design bearings (smaller contact angle, higher precision level, special cages) can achieve multiple speeds in comparison to standard bearings. Even more, higher speeds can be achieved by using the lighter and high-temperature-resistant ceramic balls instead of steel ones.
Fitting on shafts and housing
It is of the utmost importance that shafts and housings are accurately and precisely mated in order to take full advantage of the precision bearings’ capabilities, which include rotational accuracy, high-speed performance, and low heat generation.
